In this IDEA+ feature, designer and artist Tannis Marshall bridges the worlds of interiors and fine art through a language of colour, texture, and instinct. Guided by nature, design trends, and intuition, each flooring sample is interpreted through a curated colour swatch—then thoughtfully paired with one of her original paintings.
"When I began my collaboration with Divine I approached it the same way I begin a painting – by looking, listening, and letting the material speak. Starting with each of the flooring samples, the foundation of a room, I pulled tones and textures directly from the surface. Then I created a unique colour swatch inspired by those tones. From there I paired each flooring with one of my prior works to reflect how art and interior materials can harmonize through colour. This collaboration offered a fresh, unexpected way to explore how colour connects everything."
