THE PROCESS

Mid-century modern warm minimalism is the melding of two design styles characterized by their simplicity, honest use of materials, and connection to nature. Layering soulful tones of brick and stone, with organic textures of linen and wood, exemplify that there can be warmth in contrast. Forgoing the inclination to embellish, the architectural elements are intentionally designed to evoke emotion and create spaces that are calm.

This interior design concept is a playful and sensory approach to this style. Smooth terrazzo counter tops in earthy tones are reminiscent of Australian sandy beaches, while pops of pink and rusty hues are the calming rays of a sun set. The expanse of wood installation emphasizes not only the ceiling height but supports connection to the immediate outdoors

THE RESULT

This restrained finish palette is an immersive experience, creating a warm retreat within the home.

THE JOURNEY

"Over the years, it's clear that Divine takes the time and pride in researching their products to make sure they know where it's coming from, and how it will ultimately perform. And this extends to their client experience. Every person I've worked with through Divine is just an absolutle joy to be around. They're passionate about their jobs, and when you surround yourself with those kinds of people, it just makes your job easier, or my life a little easier...This particular experience - doing the design, creating a space using their product - is an absolute honour. I feel so grateful to have been asked to do this. And it was just really fun because there were really no limitations."
